Born in the United States but raised in Sweden, Maya made her professional acting debut at the esteemed Swedish Theatre, Uppsala Stadsteatern, at the age of 15. She continued to work as an actress throughout high school.

After years of practice, Maya decided to leave Sweden and moved to New York City to attend The Lee Strasberg Film & Theatre Institute. Throughout her journey as an artist, Maya always harbored a passion for filmmaking, inspired by Shonda Rhimes from a young age.

During her time at the Institute, she rekindled her desire to form her own storytelling company, drawing inspiration from both Rhimes and Taylor Sheridan. Maya can be seen in multiple national and international commercials and will be found later this year in her upcoming film, Money Baby. Which she produced, directed and stars in.
